Utopia vs. Dystopia

(Utopia)
A World Without Humans

Society is saved
By the distance of humans
Our species has moved on
A distant star is where they reside
A far-off unimaginable planet
Yet I have stayed
Remained on earth
Free from restrictions

The sand between my toes
The water on my skin
The wind in my hair
The bright orange sunset
 Reflecting off the waves
The air is thick soup
Overflowing with oxygen
Free from pollution

Animals caged…
                tortured…
                trapped…
                hunted for sport…
                starving…
                forced to fight…
Are now allowed to enjoy life
Free from man-kind

The circle of life is fair
The way God intended
The earth and its organisms
Living as one
As a whole
Years now have passed
The creatures no longer fear me
I am one of them now
Free from fright

Paradise
In a world without humans

(Dystopia)
Finding Anarchy

Fear and Terror
The only gods here
Hell? No! This is much worse
The world drowns in flames
Demons control our actions
Our sanity is lost
Anarchy is found

Gunshots booming in the distance
Showing no mercy
Disease spreads from one to another
Never killing; always pain
Children scream and cry out
There is no one to hear them
No one to care for them
Our protection is lost
Anarchy is found

Always running…
              crying…
              hiding…
              dying…
Our hope is lost
Anarchy is found

I pray.
God doesn’t hear me
The earth shatters beneath me
Rumbling thunder and lightning
Striking down the innocent
Sparing the guilty
Yet no one dies
We are all cursed
Eternal torment is our sentence
To be served without question
To be served with no alternative

Society is lost
Anarchy is found
